How does Cashback work?

You must have a Build pot set up in order to be eligible for Cashback

❓ How does it work?

Cashback allows you to earn some extra money for making your normal purchases through the links in the Financial Wellbeing app.

  1. Visit the discounts feature of the Financial Wellbeing app and find a brand that you want to shop with.

  2. You have the option to 'Shop with Cashback' only but there are often deals and promotions which can be paired with the cashback to increase your saving. 
  3. Make sure you click the link within the app to go to the retailer website where a cookie will be placed on your device by our affiliate network. You must ensure you accept the cookie in order for any cashback to be tracked.

NOTE: An affiliate network is a 3rd party provider that connects Wagestream to the retailers and allows rewards to be earned on specific purchases i.e. cashback

  1. Once you make your purchase, the cookie will be used to inform the retailer that payment is required.

  2. The retailer will pay the affiliate network.

  3. The affiliate network will then pay us.

  4. We will then pay your cashback into your Build pot.

🚀 How much cashback will I earn?

The amount of cashback that you will earn depends on the retailer rules. There are often boosted promotions for new customers and a breakdown of the key cashback tiers can be found on the screen in the Financial Wellbeing app before linking out to the retailer.

We cannot provide the exact amount you will get before you make a purchase because it will depend on how much you spend at the retailer and any retailer specific T&Cs.

The maximum amount of cashback you can earn each month is £100.

⏱️ How long does it take?

  1. The cashback may not appear immediately in your Financial Wellbeing app. To start tracking the purchase, the retailer needs to notify us of the purchase so we can determine how much you are eligible for.

  2. The time it takes for your cashback to be paid into your Build pot can vary considerably depending on the retailer you have shopped at. The timelines for paying the cashback depend solely on the retailer where you made the purchase and these can be found on the total cashback page.

  3. Your cashback will sit in ‘Pending’ until we have received the payment at which point we will move it into your Build pot where it will be shown as ‘Approved’ on your account.

❌ Why has my cashback been rejected?

Unfortunately, we do not get visibility of why your cashback has been rejected as this is done by the retailer whom you purchased the goods from. Common reasons for rejection are:

  • Order cancelled or returned.

  • Certain products will not be eligible for cashback e.g. gift card used to purchase the goods - see specific offer T&Cs for full eligibility details.

  • Other breaches of T&Cs.

  • You did not accept the cookies when prompted, or you used multiple cashback sites and the Financial Wellbeing app was not the last one.

👀 Where can I see my cashback?

To see how much cashback you have earned:

  • Go to Discounts in the Hub

  • Tap the ‘Total Cashback’ tile at the top of the screen to see a breakdown of all of your cashback split by Saved, Pending and Rejected 


🏦 All saved cashback will be moved into your Build pot and you will see your balance update accordingly.
