How does the Financial Wellbeing affect my taxes or NI contributions?

Using the Financial Wellbeing app does not have any impact on taxes, NI, or benefits in any way.

  • Enrolling in the app enables you to access a portion of the wages you earn as you earn them.

  • Choosing to transfer wages during your pay period typically appears as a salary payment from your employer.

  • We still align with your official pay date as set by your employer, and this is the date you would use for any sort of tax forms or applications for benefits, mortgages, etc.

NOTE: Depending on your bank, your salary has the potential to come through to your account slightly earlier than your regularly scheduled payday. This does not have any impact on what should be considered your actual pay date as related to tax or benefit/credit purposes.)

  • We only give access to your wages as they are earned, therefore they are still earned through the work you complete with your employer. You do not receive additional wages through us that could affect taxes. The activity statement you receive each payday outlines this in detail.

  • All tax forms such as a P45 or P60 are issued directly from your employer and using the app has no impact on this process. All salary information that passes through us is your net salary information after your taxes, NI deductions, etc. are already processed by your employer.
