How does Financial Wellbeing affect my financial or credit applications?

When applying for certain types of loans or mortgages, your bank or lender may ask how the Financial Wellbeing app affects your salary or payslips. You can provide the below:

  • We operate an earned salary access scheme on behalf of your employer that allows employees to access a percentage of their earned wages before their regularly scheduled pay date.
  • The salary payments may be distributed across the month rather than arrive as one payment in the employee’s account. Even where an employee has enrolled in the app, all salary payments appear as originating from the employer, whether through earned wage access or as the regularly scheduled salary payment.
  • All earned wages accessed are reconciled through the employee’s net salary during the salary processing on payday, at which point the employee will receive a Financial Wellbeing statement detailing their activity. Any employee using the app will be able to provide these activity statements alongside their employer-issued payslips and bank statements, even if they have not streamed wages within a given pay period.

If your Mortgage provider requires any documention for your application regarding Financial Wellbeing, please raise a ticket with the Customer Support Team informing them of what you need. We'd be happy to help any way we can!

Will using the service affect my credit score?

No. With streaming, you are accessing your earned wages in real-time. Streaming is not a loan or a line of credit so does not affect your credit score.

Will using the service affect Universal Credit?

Using the service does not affect Universal Credit calculations and/or payments. This is because Universal Credit is assessed based on information that your employer provides to HMRC directly as part of their payroll processes, while we do not impact your employer's payroll processes.

NOTE: Depending on your banking provider, your salary payment can potentially arrive in your bank account slightly earlier than your scheduled payday. However, this does not change the dates of your payday as set by your employer's pay schedule. When providing any requested information to HMRC for application purposes, please refer to the dates on your official payslip issued by your employer.
